Hey, update 3.5 is done! Check out the new features below:

Major Features

• Added the ability to put images as the background.
  
• File system!
• Added the “Remaining Word Goal” feature, which is the amount of words you have left for your word goal. You can change this directly, which makes it much easier to set word goals!
• Increased performance!
• Rainbow Progress Bar and option to change the color of the progress bar.
• Made the screenshake only affect the progress bars and the textbox (not the entire screen)
• Improved the UI.

Other Improvements

• Made it so symbols are skipped in the word count algorithm. (For example, “His name was … Bob …” will be 4 words, not 6)
• Made the borders 0.5px thicker. This looks better
• Rewrote much of the base html structure
• Put the notes section below the navbar
• Changed the “Hide”/”Show” button to be arrows. This is more intuitive.
• Moved the “Goal +[amount]” button to the quick-access bar.
• Made the textbox resizing much better. (This took a super long time to do, but it payed off in the end)
• Made button text unselectable.
• Increased the amount of confetti, because why not?
• Moved the progress bars above the textbox
• Made menus look better
• Got rid of the bevel effect in horizontal lines in menus (I didn’t even know this was happening, but I fixed it lol)
• Deleted all transition effects (might add them back later)
• Made the file size smaller and got rid of some unnecessary files in the .zip
• Added the option for a blur effect for the textboxes when the background is enabled
• Increased performance by saving every 200ms, instead of after every input into the textbox.
• Increased performance by replacing unchanging variables with const-labeled versions
• Increased performance by removing any unnecessary DOM-manipulations/queries, or moving them outside of recurring functions
• Made it so effects/sounds don’t show when pressing backspace
• Made the file exports be the name of the files
• Made the files have light text formatting within
• Added a word/page count at the top of the text export.
• Fixed bug where massive word counts make the navbars disappear

I always forget to add some feature onto this list. So there are definitely more than this :)
